Ardel ® PolyArylate Specifications
GENERAL PROPERTIES
Ardel ® PolyArylate D-100 offers
outstanding performance characteristics when exposed to environments that
contain ultraviolet lighting. This polymer has shown a better retention of
gloss, lower haze and light transmission in accelerated aging testing than
polycarbonate. The 8000 hour test conducted on polyarylate showed only a
slight loss in properties when compared to a 2000 hour test and 90 percent
loss of the original notched Izod strength with polycarbonate.
Ardel ® PolyArylate outperforms many other
engineering thermoplastics with with a HDT measured value of 345°F (174°C)
at 264psi and an Underwriters Laboratory RTI (Relative Temperature Index) of
266°F (130°C) for electrical and mechanical properties.
